Missoula, Montana

Sitting at the bottom of a valley carved out during the last ice age, Missoula was under 2,000 feet of water, known as Glacial Lake Missoula, approximately 12,000 years ago. Visitors can still see ancient shorelines on the slopes surrounding the city. Today, Missoula is Montana's second-largest city and metropolitan area, home to the University of Montana, and produces some of the best craft beer in the country.
